Objectives
  • To alleviate education barriers to the rights for many affected and deprived children who live in Malang, Indonesia in their early and developing years.
  • To reduce truancy and school dropout rates in primary schools
  • To promote individual freedom and empowerment
  • To empower parents and families with skills to help pay for the ongoing  school needs
  • To empower passionate teachers with requisite skills to help slow learners and to identify to resolve potential social problems amongst school children;
  • To help children from early childhood; to make available basic school needs, including school stationery, uniforms  and fees, providing them access to preschools and early literacy programs;
  • Refurbishment of a Physiotherapy Room in a large Orphanage. Training of 50 Physiotherapists from all over East Java on the current art of Physiotherapy for disabled children
Accomplishments
  • During September 2015 to December 2015 - Surveys were carried out by rotarians aiming to provide assistance to those households with monthly family income ranging from USD25 to USD30;
  • Targeted those households comprising 3 generations living together and those parents who are unable to support children’s basic education;
  • Motivation sessions were provided to Students, Teachers and Parents respectively;
  • 135 Parents were placed with Livelihood Programme, Cooking Workshop with simple recipes, carried out in October 2016;
  • 54 Teachers and 27 Headmasters were involved in the Triple B training programme. Participants were passionate Teachers involved in the Become Better Buddies (Triple B) Programme, including motivational talks and detailed guidelines were shared in September 2016;
  • 800 Students were assisted with basic school needs including annual school fees and basic school stationery and uniforms, launched and distributed during July 2016 to September 2016
  • Replacement of physiotherapy facilities for 150 handicapped and disabled children 
  • Training of Physiotherapists in the “Train the Trainer Program”
