On 14th October 2017, Membership Director Rtn Rajkumar Perumal Suppiah organized a fitness walk from Garden by the Bay East to Marina Barrage, to promote an active and healthy lifestyle.

The walk received an overwhelming response with the count turning out to be more than expected - not just Rotarians but also Rotaractors, Rotary prospects and members from other clubs coming to join in the celebration of a healthy lifestyle.

Registration started at 0830. All participants were provided with a bottle of mineral water. The first 30 minutes were spent with participants getting to know each other. Then, at 9am sharp, the walk commenced with some warm up exercises.

The view along the route was very scenic which made it all the more relaxing and stimulating. After an hour’s walk, we arrived at the Marina Barrage where aerial drone pictures were taken of the group, with the iconic Singapore Flyer and Marina Bay Sands in the background – a beautiful memory of the great time spent together.

Then, it was snack time. Participants enjoyed Délifrance pastries, bananas, apples and of course, some wonderful fellowship time. Rotarians viewed this walk as a great opportunity to connect with fellow Rotarians in a unique setting. Membership Director Raj Kumar thanked all for their participation and was very encouraged by the enthusiasm from the participants, promising to organize more such events in future. All the participants then dispersed but not without spending some time taking photos and exchanging phone numbers with their new friends.
