Emeritus Professor Tan Tai Yong is the President of the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and a renowned historian specializing in South and Southeast Asian history. He previously served as President of Yale-NUS College and held key academic roles at the National University of Singapore, including Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Professor Tan has authored numerous publications on Singapore’s history and regional geopolitics and has contributed to national heritage initiatives as Honorary Chairman of the National Museum and co-chair of the Founders’ Memorial Committee. His accolades include the Public Administration Medal (Silver) and the Public Service Medal.
