Speaker Profile

Purva Khera is the IMF Resident Representative in Singapore, where she monitors macro-financial developments across ASEAN. She holds a Ph.D. and M.Phil. in Economics from the University of Cambridge and a B.A. (Hons.) in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi. Her research focuses on macroeconomic modeling, gender inequality, and financial inclusion. Purva has worked on several countries including Japan, Indonesia, India, Bhutan, and Timor-Leste. She has authored influential papers on digital financial inclusion and the macroeconomic impact of gender gaps. Her insights are frequently sought by policymakers and academics alike, making her a prominent voice in shaping economic policy in the region.
